HELP NYC's ABANDONED COMPANION ANIMALS

It seems that New York City's Department of Health believes that food for the city's 4s0,000 stray and abandoned animals is a luxury, and in a dramatic slash of the budget for Animal Care and Control, the agency contracted to house these unfortunate souls, all CANNED, soft food is no longer provided except by donation. This means that the seniors, young dogs, and nursing mothers are getting dry kibble soaked in water or dry kibble plain and presented as is.

No one at ACC WANTS this--the budget was imposed on them-and they are working overtime to bring in corporate donations of both cash and goods. But, in the meantime, we need your help!

Please consider donating canned dog food to our city's neediest animals. These poor creatures arrive by the dozens each day---victims of cruelty, neglect, and circumstance. They have almost nothing to look forward to in the days or weeks they'll remain at the city shelter, and too many of them will never see the inside of a home again.

If you are able and willing to help, I guarantee that your donation will go directly to those who need you the most. You can drop off the canned doggie food we are currently OUT of (as in, none!!)--as well as any blankets, treats, cat food, cat toys, small towels/cage comforters, and "adopt me" vests to the following locations:

AC&C — Manhattan Animal Care Center
326 East 110th Street
New York, NY 10029
(between 1st and 2nd Avenues)

Development Department
Animal Care & Control of New York City
11 Park Place, Suite 805
New York, NY 10007

AC&C — Brooklyn Animal Care Center
2336 Linden Boulevard
Brooklyn, NY 11208

AC&C — Staten Island Animal Care Center
3139 Veterans Road West
Staten Island, NY 10309

THANK YOU! I know this is a frustrating time for all of us, but these animals did not ask for their fate, and they have only our kindness to rely on.
